Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores at an Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. And in 1970, won. In her first international competition in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an all-around junior champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. It was the first time she participated as an older senior. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her career when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
